The Huron

They lived in villages, developed a close relationship with the French settlers, and build large structures. The Huron grew corn and tobacco, and also played games such as field lacrosse.
There is evidence that they arived a couple of hundred years before the Europeans came to Canada.
The Huron was diseased with ths smallpox and influenza which killed anput 20,000 Hurons. When most of the Hurons were weak, the British and the Iroquois killed most of the Hurons. Some Hurons escaped to live in a village called Jeune-Lorette.
