The Iroquois planted corn, lived in villages, and were political. They lived along the St. Lawrence river, and Hochelaga, or Montreal. They hunted game, fished. The Iroquois left there villages because of the Algonquins, but there has been some evidence that the Iroquois might of left because there was going to be an attack by the Huron that would of killed everyone. Because of the farming, the Iroquois had a surplus of food, and their population started to grow rapidly. By 1350 farms became larger, because they needed more food inside without having to leave their village, and fortifications came up because of wars in the area.
